Creating Change: Perspectives from Social Entrepreneurs

Finding problems and solving them - in a nutshell, that's what social entrepreneurship is about. Ali Mehdi from India, Vuyokazie Kadalie from South Africa, Waldo Soto from Chile and Samuel Knauss from Germany are social entrepreneurs and follow this route. Whether it's access to healthcare in Africa, human flourishing as the true mission of development, using virtual reality to treat children in hospital or running a Climate Academy - these four have put their ideas on how to make the world a better place, especially in countries of the Global South, into action through social entrepreneurship.

In this podcast, they talk about their personal experiences, the challenges they have faced along the way and what advice they have for others who want to put their ideas into practice.

The four founders also have another thing in common: They all studied or conducted research at Berlin universities, and they are participants in the international alumni workshop "Tearing Down Walls to Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in the Global South". Organized by the alumni programs and startup services of Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Charité, the event is taking place in November 2021.
